Privacy Policy

The Kitamachi Editorial Team ("we", "us") operates the website KITAMACHI (https://narakitamachi.com, the "Site"). This policy explains how we handle personal information on the Site, in accordance with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following information.

  • What you enter in the contact form: company or shop name, name, email address, inquiry type, message, the date and time of sending, and the language of the page you sent it from.
  • Access information: the Site runs on services provided by Cloudflare, Inc. ("Cloudflare"). When you visit, information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the time may be recorded in Cloudflare's access logs. When you send the contact form, we temporarily record a hashed value that does not directly reveal the sender's IP address, to prevent repeated submissions. We do not store the IP address itself. These records are no longer needed after 10 minutes and are deleted when a later message is received.
  • Cookies: the Site uses cookies so that its operators can sign in to the admin area. We do not use cookies to track visitors or for advertising. Cloudflare may set cookies for security purposes.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: the contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent spam. To tell people from bots, Turnstile sends information about your browser and device to Cloudflare.

The Site does not use any analytics or advertising tools.

2. How we use it

We use this information only to:

  • reply to and handle your inquiries;
  • consider requests to be featured and contact you about them;
  • run and improve the Site;
  • prevent spam, abuse and unauthorized access, and keep the Site secure.

3. Sharing with third parties

We do not provide personal information to third parties unless you consent or the law requires it.

4. Service providers and processing outside Japan

We use the following external services to run the Site. Information is processed on these companies' servers only as needed to provide the services.

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): website hosting and data storage (Cloudflare Workers, D1, R2 and Workers KV; contact form messages and the repeated-submission records described above are stored in D1, and session data in Workers KV), sending notification emails for contact form messages (Cloudflare Email Routing), and spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile).
  • Google LLC (United States): everything you enter in the contact form is forwarded as a notification email to the operator's mailbox (Google Gmail) and is also stored in Gmail.

These are United States companies, and information may be processed on servers in the United States and other countries. The United States has no comprehensive federal law equivalent to Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information, but each company takes measures to protect personal information under its own privacy policy. 5. Security

We take necessary and appropriate measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, leaks and loss, such as limiting access to the admin area to a small number of operators and encrypting connections. We keep contact form messages only as long as needed to handle them and delete them when they are no longer needed.

6. Your requests

If you ask us to disclose, correct, add to, delete or stop using your personal information, we will confirm your identity and respond promptly as required by law. Please send requests and questions through the contact form.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when laws or the Site change. The updated policy takes effect when it is posted on the Site.
